PBX
uk IP Services offers you the opportunity to generate additional revenues by reselling a hosted PBX service.
No previous telecoms voice experience is required.
The platform allows you to become a Service Provider. This allows you to set up your own PBXs for your customers. You can even provide login rights to customers to allow them to manage their own PBX set ups. Alternatively, you can maintain control and provide an Add, Move , Change service to them. Full training is provided by uk IP Services.
So what is it?
Your customers will have Voice over IP (VoIP) phones which connect, via the internet, to a central highly resilient server farm. These servers run virtual PBXs for each customer, but as far as your customer is concerned they are only aware of one PBX - theirs.
Phones in the PBX can be anywhere in the world. Provided that a good public internet connection is available, then they can participate in the feature rich functionality of the environment. You can have a truly global PBX.
What’s more, every user extension can have more than one phone associated with it. You could have an office phone paired with one at home. Both would ring when someone called your extension.
Each user extension can also have a Direct Dial In (DDI) number so that callers do not have to go via the switchboard number.
You can also assign extensions to groups. For example, sales, enquiries etc. and various answer patterns can be set up for each group e.g. all phones ring in unison or sequentially.
No PBX solution would be complete without Voice Mail and Conferencing and the UKIPS service has it all. To make it is even better, these services are provided free of charge as pricing is just based on the number of user extensions that are live on the platform.
The Platform
uk IP Services' platform is provided by Centile S.A. and has been widely deployed throughout Europe. The platform itself is evolving using the Internet Multimedia Sub-system (IMS) model for fixed and mobile convergence.
As new features are released uk IP Services will bring them into operation to further enhance benefits offered to customers.
Interactive Voice Response (IVR) can be set up on the main switchboard number to provide call routing for example, “Welcome to Acme Corp ,please press one for sale, two for accounts, etc.” UKIPS provide a this first level tailored IVR at no cost.
Voicemail, teleconferencing and remote voicemail access are also included in the basic per seat price and are not extras, unlike some other hosted services.
uk IP Services uses a variety of Carriers to “Least Cost Route” calls to their final destination. This ensures that we can offer excellent rates and quality for outgoing call termination, enabling you to generate revenue and still offer value for money to your customers.
The Phones
The platform supports a wide range of standalone phones including, Linksys, Snom and Cisco.
There is also support for the VoIP stack in the Nokia ‘E’ series phones. Soft phones e.g. Xlite and Eyebeam on PCs can be set up and are of particular value to “Road Warriors”.
The Customer Site
The customer will have either an SDSL or ADSL Internet connection, depending on the number of concurrent calls expected to be made at the site. This connection will then go via a router and switches to the VoIP phones. We recommend that VoIP and data traffic are kept separate on their own networks to ensure the best voice quality possible.
Each user has access to a ’presence’ application on their PC.
General users access the CallPad application, while operators would use Switchboard.
CallPad allows users to view user extensions and be able to tell, at a glance, who is on a call.
They can also set up their own forwarding rules based on the whether it’s an internal or external call, time of day, etc. For example, calls can be forwarded on ‘no answer’ to a mobile after hours on weekdays only.
